Yes. Most major Canadian carriers have cell service throughout the property, although signal strength may vary depending on your provider and your location on the retreat.

Where is the nearest grocery store?2026-07-04T18:24:52+00:00

The nearest grocery stores, restaurants, pharmacies, and other services are approximately 25 minutes away in Salmon Arm and Enderby. We recommend picking up groceries before arriving at the retreat.

Lavender Cabin, Violet Cabin, and Wild Rose Cabin are open year-round.

Tin Poppy Cabin is open seasonally from approximately April through October.

Yes! Guests have access to more than 14 kilometres of private forest trails that wind through the property. They’re perfect for hiking, snowshoeing, wildlife viewing, and simply enjoying nature right outside your cabin.

Very private. Tin Poppy Retreat is situated on 160 acres of forest, with cabins thoughtfully spaced throughout the property. Guests can enjoy peaceful surroundings, private outdoor spaces, and over 14 km of private hiking trails.

Can I book the property for a DIY wedding?2026-07-04T18:24:33+00:00

We don’t offer DIY weddings or venue-only rentals.

Instead, Tin Poppy Retreat specializes in beautifully curated all-inclusive micro weddings and elopement packages. We’d love to help create a relaxed, memorable wedding experience. Please get in touch to learn more about our wedding packages.

Yes! Each cabin has its own private fire pit. You’re welcome to bring your own firewood or pre-order campfire wood for $20 per bundle.
Please note that campfires are not permitted during provincial fire bans.

Our three year-round cabins each feature a private wood-fired sauna:

  • Lavender Cabin
  • Violet Cabin
  • Wild Rose Cabin

Tin Poppy Cabin does not have a sauna.

Tin Poppy Retreat is nestled in the beautiful Larch Hills, between Salmon Arm and Enderby in British Columbia’s Shuswap region. We’re approximately 5 hours from Vancouver, 5½ hours from Calgary, and about 1½ hours from Kelowna International Airport.

A pet fee of $25 per pet applies. Pets must not be left unattended in cabins.

Yes — Tin Poppy Retreat is located in a natural, forested setting.
Bugs are part of the outdoor experience, particularly in the spring and early summer. If you’re sensitive, we recommend bringing insect repellent.

Check-in is anytime after 4:00 pm, and check-out is by 10:00 am.
If you’re hoping for an earlier check-in, please get in touch — we’re often happy to accommodate when availability allows.

We recommend bringing:

  • Groceries and beverages
  • Ground coffee (French press coffee makers are provided)
  • Personal toiletries
  • Weather-appropriate clothing
  • Hiking boots or comfortable walking shoes
  • Insect repellent during spring and early summer

Most kitchen essentials, bedding, towels, and basic supplies are already provided.

During the winter months, we recommend a four-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive vehicle equipped with good winter tires.

All cabins are equipped with cookware, dishes, utensils, bedding, and towels.
Guests should bring their own food, clothing, and toiletries. If you’re staying in one of our off-grid cabins (Violet or Wild Rose), a headlamp or flashlight is also recommended.

Full refunds given for reservations cancelled more than 30 days prior to arrival less a $50 CDN processing fee.

There are no refunds for reservations cancelled less than 30 days prior to arrival.
