Built in 1993 using timber harvested directly from the property, Violet Cabin is a handcrafted log cabin full of warmth and character. Inside you’ll find cozy sleeping accommodations with soft duvets and a fully equipped kitchen with a stove, oven, and all the essentials for preparing meals, making it easy to settle in and enjoy the simple pleasures of off-grid living.
Spend your days exploring more than 14 kilometres of private hiking and snowshoe trails that begin right outside your door, then return to what many guests consider the most beautiful wood-fired sauna on the property. After your sauna, gather around the fire pit to roast marshmallows, share stories beneath the stars, and enjoy the the peace and quiet of the Shuswap forest.

Violet Cabin offers a truly unplugged, off-grid stay in the Shuswap. The cabin does not have conventional electricity or running water. Propane appliances and lighting provide the essentials, while rechargeable lanterns are available for additional light. What are the sleeping arrangements at Violet Cabin?
Violet Cabin sleeps up to five guests. The cabin features a king bed in the loft, a single bed and a futon for additional sleeping space. All bedding, linens and towels are provided for your stay.
What water is provided at Violet Cabin?
Violet Cabin does not have running water. Five-gallon containers of fresh water are provided for drinking, cooking and washing during your stay. Guests may wish to bring additional drinking water, particularly for longer visits.
What kitchen amenities are included at Violet Cabin?
Violet Cabin has a simple off-grid kitchen equipped for preparing meals during your stay. Propane appliances are provided, along with cookware, pots and pans, dishes and glassware for up to five guests. Complimentary tea, salt and pepper are also included. A propane BBQ is located on the back porch, propane is provided.

Yes, Violet Cabin has its own private wood-fired sauna surrounded by the forest. Sauna use is available as a $30 add-on and includes firewood and robes. Sauna availability may be affected by seasonal fire restrictions.
